Delfin is finished in three woods.  Cabinets are made of Jatoba, a renewable tropical wood that is hard as nails and naturally assumes a deep red color when exposed to light.  Flooring is Moabi, another renewable tropical wood that also weathers to a deep reddish color.  Horizontal surfaces on cabinets are finished in Paduk, a wood that begins almost orange and weathers to a deep mahogany brown.  Carl Vickers and Steve Hall were the primary craftsmen involved in this aspect of the project.

No stains were used, with the finish in rubbed effect Epifanes, an extremely hard and durable varnish.  8 to 12 coats was used on most surfaces, providing convincing proof that OCD is a helpful disorder when finishing a boat.
